In times of change and uncertainty, we often find ourselves searching for a sense of grounding, a way to reconnect with who we are at our core. This is where rituals, ancient yet timeless, hold profound power.
I was born in Brazil, a country deeply rooted in religion but equally enriched by its African heritage, which brought with it a blend of powerful and diverse traditions. From a young age, I was immersed in rituals and spiritual practices that were simply part of everyday life.
During a particularly difficult time in my life during a divorce, I felt lost and was trying to reconnect with myself. I was no longer the person I was before marriage, motherhood, and divorce, but the new version of me wasn’t born yet. In an effort to find peace and clarity, I attended a cacao ceremony held under the full moon. We sat outside in a circle, with the moonlight above us and the Earth beneath. There was something so natural about it—sitting outside, even though they were people I had never met before, I felt our union cradled by the energy of the Earth.
The connection I felt that night reminded me that, at times, we forget we are part of nature. It was a gentle awakening for me, a reminder of my place in the world and my own strength as I transitioned to a new phase of life. This sacred, personal experience reinforced the importance of grounding oneself in nature and community, serving as a reminder that healing is not only personal but universal.
This PDF is an excerpt from my upcoming book, which I hope will share these meaningful rituals with a wider audience. My goal is to make these practices accessible to more people so they, too, can find healing and connection in their lives. Thank you for supporting my new Etsy store and for allowing me to be a part of your journey.
